Certificate of Attainment in Greek

Content

The Certificate of Attainment in Greek was legally established by the Ministry of Education in November 1998. The Centre for the Greek Language is the exclusive official authority responsible for the design and administration of exams. The certificate is an official title that certifies the level of Attainment in Greek Language.

Where

Tests take place in officially recognised examination centres worldwide. Greek Education Office in Sydney is an officially recognised examination centre in New South Wales and Canberra (ACT).

When

Exams take place in May every year in all examination centers around the world. The registration and examination dates are usually announced at the beginning of February every year. Application forms are submitted to the examination centers.

Levels

There are seven (7) different levels of language attainment:

  • Level A1 (for children 8-12)
  • Level A1 (for adolescents and adults)
  • Level A2
  • Level B1
  • Level B2
  • Level C1
  • Level C2

Candidates of all levels are tested on all four skills, that is,

  • Reading Comprehension
  • Writing
  • Listening Comprehension
  • Speaking

Results

Examination centers inform participants about results on the second half of July. Successfull participants receive their certificate by their respective examination center by the end of October.
